    Hi guyz!

I ve been a member for some time now, and i kept on reading posts until i got my xps 1530 last week. Its an excellent machine.Very fast , very powerfull!

I havent reformated ,just removed the bloatware manual. I have also deleted the Dell Recovery partition and merged the free space into C:

I am facing a problem now.. I tried to map the Dell button to windows media center and it worked great.. The only problem is that now, when the laptop is off, when i press the media button, it just boots Vista and starts media center from within Vista.. Dont know what caused the problem.. Either the registry edit, or the removal of Dell recovery. I edited the registry to re-map the key back to Dell Direct, but again when the laptop is off,it boots vista and starts media direct from Vista..

Is there any fix for this? I have not touched the MD partition of the hard drive.Only the recovery one..

    Thx in advance guys!

PS. This forum has helped me alot! Congrats to every single member in here!

EDIT: I tried re installing media direct from Vista but i get an Installation Error at 10% every time

    I edited these values:

    HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\MobilePC\HotStartButtons\0
    HKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\MobilePC\HotStartButtons\0
    HKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Control\MobilePC\HotStartButtons\0

Just put the directory and file of the program you want
