This has probably already been answered, but I would like to know! I have a Dell XPS M1710 Laptop, with Windows XP. I want to know which version of Media Direct I should be using and how do I reinstall it!
    Thanks!

    Hello,
    You need version 3.0.
You can get media direct from Dell driver download. If you no longer have the media direct partition you will first need to create one then install media direct.
I don’t use media direct in windows, PowerDVD works much better. PowerDVD will not have the black bars on the sides and or on the bottom of your screen.

Ok Thanks, The Dell Site only has the repair utility, is that what I need?

I didn’t know that it was just a patch. You can call Dell and get a copy of all the software that came on your computer.
Or you can try this site, it is old but the download may work.
