Just found this offer on Dell Outlet USA (for $770.83):

    Quote:
    XPS L702X 245M1
NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M 3GB graphics with Optimus 11XPP
    9 Cell Primary Battery 243Y0
Processor: Intel Core i5-2410M processor (2.30 GHz with Turbo Boost 2.0 up to 2.90 GHz) 84X35
    4 GB DDR3 ECC SDRAM 1333MHz (2 DIMMs) 8X15M
    Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1000
    17.3in FHD WLED AG (1920x1080)
    Internal Backlit Keyboard
320 GB SATA Hard Drive (5400 RPM)
I'll be off to the USA next week visiting family there and so I'm considering buying a laptop off the US outlet site and just bringing it back with me.

I've got a couple of questions however:

    1) Is that laptop I've found a good price, as this is it's my first time on the US outlet site, so I want to make sure I get a good deal

    2) Is it possible for me to buy with my UK Credit card on their website?

    3) Does the Ownership transfer work between countries?

    Thanks in advance

I've decided to go for it, as I didn't want to lose out on it.

I've tried paying with my credit card, but there was no option for the UK Payment address, so I've typed in the US Delivery address as the payment address and I'm hoping it should go through.

It's just occured to me that the keyboard will be US format, but I'm hoping Dell UK would be kind enough to do a swap when I get back home.

Is there anything else I should be aware of?

as long as they post it in the time it will be fine. If uk customs believe you bought it there they will charge you 20% on it, but as long as it isn't in the box which i doubt you will want to bring back it will be fine.

Just checked the status of the order and it's been cancelled.

Looks like Dell needs a US Credit/Debit card for the order to go through

You'll also need a UK keyboard unless you mind the " and @ being swapped around... also power supplies will need replacement plugs or adaptors

Yea, he'll need an adapter, but the brick itself can handle Europe voltage just fine. 100-240V, 50-60Hz. Or thereabouts, the voltage range is probably a bit different, but it'll work.
