The colors are great. They look very vibrant.

I've had the M1530 laptop 4 days from the dell outlet. I've currently got an AU optronics 1440x900 screen in it which is evenly lit, no dead pixels but is grainy compared to my Vostro and my HP laptops.

I've just managed to get them to order a new replacment screen for me, the guy did say that it was a LG Phillips WXGA+ part number

    P/N:C930C
SERVICE KIT..., LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY..., 15.4WXGA+, TLF, M1530

screen that's on order. Engineer coming to install on Monday. Could you let me know how I can identify if it is a LG either from the part number ordered or when the screen arrives on Mon, I can have a look at what markings it has on (but don't know what I'm looking for.. if it's not a LG I'm not gonna let him fit it.

    Any help really appreciated.

So all 1530s from the outlet are supposed to include headphones and the sleeve, or are those accessories you ordered separately? Don't think I saw either in my box....

I got the headphones with my m1530 from the outlet but not the sleeve. I called them up and the person on the phone said that the sleeve was a limited time promotion. Does anyone know if this is true? Has anyone who bought one recently gotten the sleeve? Have ALL the new ones come with a sleeve? I tried to argue that since the sleeve was an accessory it should have been included. On Dell's website it says that all refurbished computers come with the same accessories as a new one. They said that since on my invoice it didn't mention a sleeve I shouldn't get one. I then pointed out that my headphones weren't on the invoice but I got them. They kept mentioning that the reason I got the headphones was because the computer had a webcam and a mic and that it came standard because of those. Whatever that means? Also, I didn't receive my LOTR game that was on the invoice that I received. Customer service said it wasn't on my invoice so they transfered me to sales. Sales admitted it was on my invoice and transfered my back to customer service who then said I shouldnt get it. After getting transfered back and forth a few times I gave up. Anyone able to get them to send a sleeve?

Personally, although the headphones were a very nice surprise with the whole package (actually, I was VERY impressed with the leather cd case/manual holder and everything) I find them horribly uncomfortable in my ears since they either fall out too easy or feel like theyre muting all sound (even their own) from coming through :p

I think I'll stick to my own headphones, but thanks for the effort, Dell =)

I have just bought a dell xps m1530 and am considering sending it back for a refund!!

The colors seem washed out i.e. when watching a movie black comes up as a very dull black and seems faded. When I hook up a seperate LCD monitor the black is as it should be ...nice dark black ;-)

Anyone have this problem??? Is this normal for this type of screen monitor\lpldF00???

Try a rebuild. I got a Vostro 1500 which was like this, had the GPU and screen swapped out. In the end it was my installation of Winxp .... doh.

I had pretty much the exact same experience. I'm missing the sleeve cover and the LotR software with my refurbished package. I called to request the items, but was transferred from one dept to another, and finally completed frustrated, I just hung up the phone with the final rep (pretty much all strongly accented folks, although nice, are very slow and often times have no clue). Now I'm looking on this forum for help. But at least it's nice to know that I'm not the only person missing accessories.

To me, the sleeve would just put this purchase over the top, since I'm very happy with the system itself. Either black or red would do. Just imagine carrying the sweet piece of work around in a matching slick cover? I don't play any games, but I would have liked to install the LotR software to see how kick-ass this system really is. So if anyone has a good approach to talking with a Dell customer service/technical representative to get these items shipped to us for free (a guy can hope, right?), please post on here a good solution.

    Thanks!

Hi guys - i ordered a m1530 from the outlet..the sytem didn't have blueooth on it, so before checkout, i added BT 2.0 EDR for the additional 20$. problem is, i can't see any bluetooth icon in control panel. how can i check if they have actually installed the card on the system? ( on the invoice it said Bluetooth 355 - Customer Install . whatever does that mean?!)
