I don't think it uses Quick Set for the eject button? I uninstalled it on my XPS M1530 and the eject and volume buttons etc all work. It just doesn't give you the graphics that pop up on screen when adjusting volume etc.

Yea, Quickset controls the eject soft-button.

Just install the Vista Quickset, it will still work ok I think.

If I try to install it, it says that I need to install a service pack or update Windows because the tool is using a newer windows install client. Or something like that.. T_T

    Any ideas?

    thanks guys.!!

Can you try the Quickset of an older system that has XP drivers? or a similar system of the bussines line (I think Dell used to have XP as an option for this systems until recently)?

think i tried out nearly everything, nothing that worked for me so far... but there is a toll that enables the visual volume bars at least... search for it in the "how to install xp" thread

After windows xp reinstall my dell quickset was missing so I had to download it, but I don't like the 7.1.8 Version!!!! I like the old one better but I don't know what version it is, the one that came with my system when I first bought it! I'd like to get the old version but I can't find it. Also, if I press Fn+esc my computer is supposed to go into stanby but it doesn't. Fn+F1 works (hibernate)
