I bought my laptop off Craigslist about a month or two ago and it came configured with 6GB DDR3 which has been nice. Anyway, with BF and Christmas around the corner, I'm trying to come up with some ways to get some extra cash. So I looked up my configuration on dell and it shows
    "1 J688F Module, Dual In-line Memory Module, 6GB, 1066MHZ, DDR3"

I assuming it's really 1x4GB and a 1x2GB modules in my laptop? I would open it but at the moment I am unable to access my laptop and want a quick answer I guess. The reason I'm wondering is I figure I could make a quick buck selling off the 1x4GB stick on eBay (maybe ~$200-$250?) and just purchase another 1x2GB (making it 4GB total) stick for my laptop and it should be fine for the gaming I do (MW2, Dragon Age: Origins). That's the only intensive 'work' I do on my laptop anyway besides watching videos and web browsing.

If you guys have opinions on whether this is a good idea or not, I wouldn't mind hearing them either. Thanks for any help! Also on how much a 4gb stick may be worth.

Pretty sure it's 1 x 2GB and 1 x 4GB. They don't make 6GB or 3GB DIMMs as far as I know, and the 1645 should only have two memory slots. 4GB DDR3 SODIMMs look like they're still going for anything from $200 to $300.

Download CPU-Z....it can "read" what memory is in what slot: brand name, timings, speed, size of stick, etc.

Thank you. Tried it out. Have 1x2GB (Samsung) and 1x4GB (Hyundai) So now to figure out if I should go about trying to sell this module. I'll scour some marketplace forums and see if they are popular.
