Hello,
I have just bought a new "Dell Slim Auto/Air/AC Adapter" . But when it's connected to my XPS M1330 it always sounds a squeaking or creaking sound if you hear it by closing your ears.
Is it normal?
Could you check this issue "Dell Slim Auto/Air/AC Adapter" owners please?
Thanks.

Mine does it when it's charging the battery. Once it's fully charged, the adapter is quiet. Either way, if we get enough similar feedback from others here, it might be normal for this adapter, but noises like this aren't generally "normal."

Mine doesn't make any noise at all on 2 different machines (XPS 1330 and D630) on either AC or DC and either charging or powering the laptop. It is 18 months old....

Thank you for your replies. I have tested mine again, it noises whether connected to notebook or not. And after a time (eg: 1 or 2 hours) charger will heating and also sound increasing.
In the sinstoic's review, he says LED Light on the adapter is blue color but mine is yellow. It is not an important issue but why mine not blue?
My adaptor's nameplate has followings:
PA-12 Familiy
MODEL: DA65NS3-00
DELL P/N: DK138
REF. NO.: SADP-65UB A
INPUT:
AC 100-240V~1.5A
DC 11-16V ---8A
OUTPUT: 19.5V --- 3.34A
Efficiency Level: IV RTCA-DO-160E -
i like to use this car adapter from dell for my m1530, that way i can watch movies when riding for 5 or 6 hours straight
but i have never heard a noise comming from it, it just gets extremely hot, i have burnt my finger about 3 times now, seriously dangerous stuff right there.... seems its slim design does not allow heat dissipation.
