On a clean install of Windows 7 x64 RTM the latest driver available from Dell support (v6.10.0.6162, A14) seems to crash at random intervals. Only a reboot fixes the problem. It makes running the IDT drivers almost impossible but there are some features such as analogue 5.1 which I can't do without.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I never installed it since I don't really see a need for it as my audio works fine without it.

Yeah it works fine for me too but you lose out on lots of options such as dual headphones, 5.1 analogue out, SRS enhancements, equaliser etc. The IDT drivers really do add a whole host of extra functionality. Just a pitty they are so unstable on Win7.

    Has anyone else tested them?

Really? Windows 7 doesn't support dual outputs by default? How did you manage that?

I installed on Win7 RTM x64 (build 16385). No problems so far. Have you tried uninstalling, then reinstalling them ?

I may uninstall them anyway since I don't have any need for the extra features.

Yeah many times. It seemed to crash more often when I plugged headphones in. Have you tried plugging a pair in yet?
