I am from India. My warranty expired last August(Almost a year). One fine day i switched on my laptop and it wont start. Dell wanted me to cough up 400$(Rs. 17500) to renew my laptop for a year and then look into the issue. I decided not to. Gave it to a local guy and he said the Graphics chip (ATI Readon HD 3670 - 512 MB) was dead and needs replacement. Its been over a month since i gave it to him and now hes not able to find the chip in aftermarket. What should i do.
Can you suggest some independent company that renews warranty for fewer bucks or repairs laptop. or some place i could get my motherboard replaced or just find this chip.

    Please advice.

Won't start as in no POST or no power?

How do you know it is a bad chip? I would get a proper diagnosis first before you go on a wild goose hunt of replacing parts.
