    From Dell-Bill_B:

I would like to send 130 Watt, slim AC Adapters to NBR community members who own throttling Studio XPS 1645's. 1647 owners, you are coming next, but your BIOS update is going to be after Chinese New Year, so let me take care of the 1645 folks first, please. It was not clear after the conference call last Thursday night whether 1647 would be needing a 130 Watt adapter, but I got an email today that says we will be sending them out for 1647 as well.

What I need in PM from you to send out the adapters:
    1. your service tag
    2. your current shipping address to include your name.

Brad will be dispatcing AC adapters to customers who request them on the Dell forum via PM. Todd will be assisting me here. You can send your request to Todd if I do not reply fast enough. I'm shooting for less than 1 business day to reply. I am ordering these as new parts, which means they will possibly ship via UPS or FedEx ground. I'm just not sure. We will find out in the next couple of days when they start going out how they are being shipped.
Once I reply, there is no need to reply back to the PM. I want to keep my inbox as lean as possible, so I can get them out as quickly as I can.
If you have already sent me a PM about the adapter, please send it again. I had to delete all my existing PM's to be fair to those who waited to send them as I had requested.

    What you need to know:
    1. A07 is slated to post soon. I am sorry, but they are still asking me not to go public with the date at the time of this posting. They are trying to get A07 web posted ahead of Chinese New Year. If it does not make it by then due to failing out of test, it will surely be a short time after that week. The latest update I got is, "We are checking the validation data and status daily, so far so good."
    2. The adapter alone, without installing A07, will give you absolutely zero relief from throttling. You will need to wait until we post the new BIOS.
    3. You will not be required to return your existing 90 Watt adapter.
    4. If you purchased a 130 Watt from Dell.com, Dell sales, Dell spare parts, or a third party retailer, you are still entitled to receive a 130 Watt adapter from me.
    5. If you have an order in production, please PM me the order number, and I will try to check the order details to verify whether you will be receiving a 130 Watt with your system. If the order details are not visible to me yet, or if they indicate a 90 Watt, I will just send you the 130 Watt to save you the aggrevation.
    6. If there are any questions that I missed, please use the new thread that someone will kindly start for me.
    7. If you are outside the US or Canada, I am very sorry, but I cannot replace the adapters for you myself. I cannot guarantee anything, but if you want to try to just send me your information anyway, I will try to locate someone in your region to send you an adapter. If I cannot get it done for you in regions outside of North America, you will have to wait until we post an official announcement on our corporate blog, Direct2Dell.
    8. For other issues raised with the 164x series, please start a new thread or drop the URL for any existing threads in the "AC Adapter replacement thread," and I will ask Brad and Todd to look them over. If they are large in scope, I will size them at all venues on the internet, and get them into my internal process for escalating issues to engineering.

Thanks for your patience, and let's get rolling, folks!
