I just received the machine today with i5 4210U. I reinstalled Windows 7, installed all the proper chipset drivers and others from Dell Support site. You know the drill.

I am using RealTemp and CPU ID, but I cannot see that the turbo boost is actually working. It's locked at 1.7GHz whether I am idle, watching youtube (light load) or running Prime 95.

With Turbo boost 2.0, even Prime 95 initially should be clocked up with low temps. Anyways, I literally just do not see this go above 1.7GHz on any light load even..

Obviously checked Windows power setting, and there is no setting for turbo boost on the bios. It is on performance mode already.

I notice that turbo boost does not work on both battery mode and ac adapter plugged in and charging. I guess I can try to see if it will boost if battery is fully charged. But even then, turbo boost should still be working..!

I googled everything, but Turbo boost is something really hardware wise, so it really should work out the box...

Please help me! What can I do?! Thank you much in advance!

Haha.. Wow Dell really screwed up the bios settings..

You have to enable HYBRID POWER of something like that on the bios. That enables the turbo boost. It works now...
