Has anyone here replace a m.2 drive that is different from Dell?

    It must be 2280 size?

I am thinking of the Samsung 950 EVO m.2 drive.

    Thanks.

I replaced the one in my 9550 with a off-the-shelf Samsung 960 Pro. Worked just fine. Not sure if the XPS 13 uses the same size. You should be able to get the model of the drive from Windows, look up the size, and determine which replacements will work.
