    common on the XPS 15 as well, it could be the microphones not fully seated or clips not engaged. When I finally got a good XPS15 I took a dremel to the mounts so it could screw together better!

    I really wonder if Dell has any quality control over their "Top Tier Laptops"

    it's a shame for a 900 quid laptop ... if was wasn't going on sabbatical next week I'd send it back ...

    Most of us just open it up and take a look. I had to do the same on my 2 grand laptop!

    If that is your only issue, I would try a quick removal of case bottom and reinstall properly.

    There is a simple Dell PDF service manual plus a few threads / pictures on NBR that show how to remove the cover.
