    Hi All,
I am new to the forum. I am planning to buy XPS 15 and only thing bothering me is the issue regarding USB 3.0 not working properly, reported by many users.
The issue is USB 3.0 ports stops working randomly with normal USB mouse or even with external Harddisks.

    Here is the link
Dell XPS 15 - USB 3.0 Problem - Laptop General Hardware Forum - Laptop - Dell Community

I am heavy USB port user, as I have USB mouse, External HD, Internate Modem and even USB cooling pad.
I request all XPS 15 owners to please comment on this about your experience.

    Thanks,
    Sam

I am one of those who experience intermittent probs. Not enough to make me send it back...hopefully a fix will come soon. Even though I have the 17" it appears to be related. I moved my dongle to one of the other 2.0 ports. The times that I have used the 3.0 ports seemed to have been fine, like using them to sync an iPod.

    Even the site says otherwise.
I remember installing it a few weeks ago and it worked dandy for me.

    Thanks a lot Frndz...
I think I will go for the XPS 15.

Only 2 Question for configuration now, As I m going to use it for Gaming,
    1) Should I go for I7-2630 QM OR I5 is fine for most of the games?
    2) How much worth it is to upgrade to Nvidia GT540M with 2GB memory?

again your replies are priceless for me to decide on config...
