I have recently purchased Dell XPS 15 502X in India online. I use laptop for class room presentations. Unfortunately it has no VGA port. Its HDMI port does not give duplicate display when connected to projector. What is the use of this laptop for me in spite of its other good qualities. Will anybody kindlysuggest me the remedy ?

There's no VGA port, but there is a minidisplay port, which is compatible with VGA, and will display duplicated video if you get the correct adapter. All you need is a minidisplay to VGA converter ( Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter Cable For Macbook Pro on eBay.ca (item 370324635558 end time 17-May-11 23:42:51 EDT) ). It's the same converter cable that MACs need to use if they wish to connect via VGA.

HI: I too was wondering how best to connect my dell xps502x to my HD TV and found that clone display for the NVIDIA card can now be achieved with the latest updates for the NVIDIA drivers from the Dell web site. See this discussion:

I also noted that a Display port to HDMI conversion cable can be used if you do not wish to use the HDMI to HDMI cable.
I hope this is helpful.
