    Hey all,

I need input from other xps 9550 owners please, can't seem to find this discussed anywhere.
Question in title, more specifically: I just purchased a refurbished unit and arbitrary pressure turns the laptop on while plugged in to AC. This is problematic because closing the lid after shutting down could easily turn on the laptop back again. It doesn't happen when it's on battery only / not on AC power (well, so far anyway).

    Thanks in advance!

"Feature or Faulty" - great title!

I don't quite understand the above sentence but that is not relevant. It looks like you have a short and that could be dangerous, particularly with the large battery pack onboard. You don't read about laptop shocks, sparks, or fires frequently but they do happen.

I speculate the eBay seller purchased the laptop from the Dell outlet web page but who knows. If I liked the computer, I would try to get it replaced by Dell under warranty. Alternatively you could ask the ebay seller for repair/replacement/refund. Regardless, make sure you get the eBay complaint process started and documented now (there are very strict rules for buyers). EBay has good protection for its sellers because that is where the money comes from; buyers not so much.

    Good luck

Yeah wanted to be 100% sure. If feature, definitely a terrible one :D

When charger is unplugged, this problem doesn't happen.

    Thanks for the input!
