    Hi all!
For the last 5 months I was observing most of the topics regarding XPS 9550. I've got the FHD version. Issues like daily BSODs, yellowish tint on the screen, throttling and so on are also present on my laptop.
More like 2 weeks ago I was playing with settings and at least I got rid off these nasty BSODs. I disabled some options in BIOS (second sata port I guess) and installed newest Inter RST drivers. My SSD (PM951 256GB) is working with RAID mode now. Machine was working stable and I was pretty happy with it now... until yesterday.
I was watching some movie and I've noticed some bump near the touchpad area. I thought it was some dirt so I've gently rubbed it with my fingernail... and then... OMG!!! I have a hole in my palm-rest area! How did that happen?
There was no signs of any scuff marks or cracks near that area, so I'm still not 100% sure how the hell did it happen (especially in place like this where nothing beside my palms are touching these fake carbon material). I was searching for defects in other places as well and I've found another bump. I'm not touching this one.
There you go. This is the first laptop which I've damaged with my fingernail (and I had a few before). Thank you Dell for your so called "premium" materials.

Maybe you damaged it with a watch or some thing. I dont think you can blame Dell for that

I would be raising a warranty claim, after all this is carbon fibre, very tough and used in place of the defective rubber on the 9530. If that were damage it would need to be gouged out not something a watch can do. Mines took a few knocks by accident, dropping phone on it and god knows what my 2 year olds done each time I caught him fekin with it.

Nope. I don't wear any kind of watch and I didn't do anything to damage the surface except for gently rubbing a small bump like the one shown on the first picture. End up with crack/hole 1 by 3mm, so I... blame Dell. My previous laptop used daily for the last 8 years is made from 100% shiny plastic and still looks and works pretty much like new (I'm taking about Asus M50 Sa).

The thing is I'm not in US anymore and my unit is refurbished. I had some issues with transferring warranty to my country since I don't know who was the previous owner (another unhappy customer of Dell super slow service) - and I bought my 9550 on ebay with pro warranty - refurbished unit but factory sealed. I don't know what does this PRO warranty mean in my case. Useless.

Pro in the UK means next business day service depending on parts availability and service at work/home. 24/7 premium phone support. It is country specific but worst case would be mailing it into the service centre, either way you have a warranty and they will fix that.
With it being refurbished they will have to replace with another refurb not new if they can't fix it after a few attempts (I triggered it with 3 and got my 9530 replaced with a new 9550 that got replaced 3 times with a free double the SSD & RAM to shut me up)
