I've read many posts on this, during demanding usage, the CPU throttles to 800MHz. This gets stuck for even after the demanding usage has ended, and stays for a little while then reverts back to normal.

This is super irritating as my FPS drops from 7x-8x to 3x.

    I've read about:
    1. Unchecking BD PROCHOT in TS, recommended by Vasudev
    2. Playing around with thermal management in Dell Command - I'm using 'Cool'
    3. Uninstalling DPTF by:
    a. Going offline, uninstalling and selecting the delete driver when possible through device manager, uninstalling from control panel, disabling after uninstall and finally reboot.
    b. Safe mode and same procedure as (a)
    c. Tried making DPTF folder in C:\Windows\System32\Intel\DPTF\ "Read-Only" <-- is this how you "write-protect?" after procedure (a)
    d. Using the Microsoft wushowhide.diagcab which supposedly lets u hide updates, but this doesn't show the DPTF driver update after scanning
but it just keeps reinstalling when i go back online after reboot.

HWINFO shows my Ambient temps <60 degrees max, and since i've repasted and repadded, i doubt my VRMs are hot, but DPTF is still throttling me.

Side Note: I've managed to reduce the frequency of this throttling slightly by disabling turbo which yields more consistent temps instead of spikes which triggers DPTF, but a more permanent solution is needed.

Any help would be most appreciated!

I may be mistaken but isnt it the XPS 15 line that is plagued with VRM throttling?

the link that antik posted from iunlock is the best bet to stop any VRM throttling.

Why don't you post some images of HWiNFO64 & ThrottleStop various panels before and after throttling to help.

Is this a recent problem? Is it better or worse after your repaste and repadding?

I think the ThrottleStop disable turbo function was really designed for older CPUs.

You might try using the SpeedShift function and try different EPP settings:

Have you undervolted the CPU core & cache at SAME amount (say -120mv each)?

    unfortunately, yes.

Yes, i've undervolted both at -125mv. They're equal.

When it throttles, Limit Reasons shows :
    PL1 and PL2 on Core
    EDP OTHER on Ring

hwinfo shows that my ambient temps were <60 Deg and CPU max temp was only 76 deg
