    Hello everyone

I'm having a black screen problem with the power button on. I'm trying to reflash the BIOS hoping it will fix it.

I've tried to extract the .ROM file from the Dell XPS 15 9550/9560 BIOS update file using /writeromfile command, but without results. I've seen some posts about this problem and no solutions yet.

May I know if I can use someone else's rom file? (from someone with a similar model who could extract his BIOS rom file?)

    I'd appreciate any help.

    Thanks

Did you try running HDMI cable to a TV and pressing the screen change button (maybe "F8" "down button").

Did you check that the screen cable is properly seated? That came loose for a few of us. It is under a silver metal cover with one black JIS screw (do NOT use a normal phillips screwdriver).

The motherboard is a new (certified refurbished) that didn't turn on even once.

I don't think the screen cable is the problem as we've done a complete reassemble and replaced the motherboard.

Can someone please shed some light on my concern? Is it a problem to use a rom file extracted from another motherboard of the same exact type?
