Hey everyone, so I just got my new xps today, and conveniently got hit with a virus that was taking over really fast... so I wiped the hd, and did a clean install with my os disk and the driver disk.

I have most things working... but multi touch does not work, and under devices there is an 'unknown' device without a driver, and I was wondering if anyone knew the multitouch driver and how I should go about identifying that mystery hardware?

Did you install the touchpad drivers?

I did... also, now whenever I download a .zip driver from Dell, I can unzip it... but then no installation happens.

    download winrar or something..
I would just call up dell and tell them to send you the recovery cd's with drivers and just wait it out.

cheers mate hope you enjoy the new xps.

I'm going through the reinstall process myself. The unknown driver for me was the ST Motion Sensor. I was able to get it from the Dell support site when I looked for drivers for my XPS15.

Got the ethernet driver, and things seemed to go smoother on my second clean install where I followed dell's recommended driver install order. But... Multitouch still does not work. I got the touchpad driver, and the touchpad works... but I can't pretend I have a Mac :(

Does anyone know what I have to do to fix this?
