OK, so I was sleeping on my couch and had set my laptop on the floor. The next morning I woke up and didn't realize I had fallen asleep with my cell phone on my chest pretty much. So, I get up and my cell phone falls from not that far off from the ground and makes 2 dents on the top of my laptop. Is it possible that Dell could replace that under my warranty? How is it possible that I paid $1,500 dollars for a product and just a mere phone drop on the metal part of the cover (my phone is actually quite small) could dent the screen so easily? Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

Uhh...you dropped something on it. You didn't dent the screen. I'm assuming you dented the cover.

Uh....You do realize that you had the chance to purchase accidental damage protection in the "advanced" service plan, right? I assume you didn't. Now you want Dell to replace the cover of your laptop as if you did?

Unless you got Complete Care, I don't think standard warranties cover that. Also is the damage only cosmetic? I don't think any warranties cover cosmetic damage..

Thanks for answering respectively, that's all I wanted to know. I'll just put a cover on it or something, that'll take care of the look of it.
Oh, and I got the two year extended warranty, though I don't think that warranty covers it. Thanks!
