I have a dell xps 15 9530 with the Samsung PM851 ssd (Windows 8.1). However I'm getting speeds of only 300 and most results I have seen are closer to 500. I noticed dell has a firmware upgrade for this ssd titled EXT49doq, but I cannot for the life of me boot this computer from the USB drive, and I have tried every usb port.

I downloaded the firmware file from dell, unzipped the file, used Rufus to make my usb bootable, transferred the folder over, and restarted the laptop in advanced startup selecting USB, but it continuously boots normal.

What else can I do? Has anyone else updated the firmware, and if so, how did you do it.

OK, so I figured it out from reading page 309 of the owner's lounge, but I regret the upgrade, as now my ssd is averaging 60mb/s less. I went from 250 to 190. Can I downgrade the firmware?
