Hello,
I have a dell XPS 15. I've removed the power and the battery - held the power button for 30 seconds. Tried turning it on - no light on the button - no fan movement. I've replaced the battery with a battery from a working XPS 15 - no luck. I've replaced the power supply with one from another xps 15 - no luck. I've taken it apart - no fan movement either so plugging in a monitor won't help nor will power and f12.

I don't know which model you have. But maybe this thread helps get you started. A few people broke the power adapter ports here, and those are not so difficult to fix.

This place stocks a lot of spares

Thanks - since I put in a working battery from a chaged unit, I don't think it is the power adapter port.

Do you get any light if you plug in the ac adapter, even momentarily? It could be a bad power switch or something.

Thanks. I press the power button and the light goes on for a few seconds and off again. I've tried 1 stick of memory, reversing them, making sure they are clean, removing the HD, putting it back in - still just the power button for a few seconds and then it goes off. I've also done this with just a battery, no battery - same issue.
If there are any youtube videos that show how to bipass the power switch I'd appreciate it.
Fans never move even 1 degree and they are clean. The inside of this laptop was remarkably clean. -

That's good that you get some feedback when pressing the power button, that means it's working. You may want to try to recover the bios:

Thanks for all your help. I do appreciate it.
After wasting another hour on it the light no longer comes on again. I repeated all the steps I took before. TOD 4/2/2021 9:15AM PT. In reality it has been dead more than a year but neither I nor my client wanted to accept it.
It did reinforce my recommendation to my customers to buy Samsung or LG in the future. They seem to boot faster and are MUCH MUCH MUCH lighter. This thing was built not to ever be serviced despite having so many weak points IMHO.
I looked on ebay and there are a ton of broken motherboards for this laptop being sold as broken for parts only.
