So, I've had my laptop for less then a year, 6 months to be exact, and the HD has gone bad already, in house service repair being scheduled for this week.
Isn't this a very short amount of time for my HD to have failed already? It is the 120gb HD.

6 months = bad HD...Even at 6 months, I still consider the 1530 to be *newer* (it's not even a year old)! So, yeah my opinion is that it shouldn't have failed already.
On-Site is coming to replace the HD? If things don't work, maybe you can *push* for a replacement? I had On-Site replace my Motherboard several months ago..things have been working fine since the replacement
Good luck & keep us advised at the outcome (hopefully a good one for yah)

What brand of hard drive was it? I got my 1520 in October of 07 and the Toshiba hard drive failed in June of 2008.
Dell sent me a Fujitsu hard drive, no problems since -
Not sure what brand, it was the standard one that came with my system.
