    Hello,

I push the power button on my 1530 and nothing happens. No lights, no anything. There was no burning smell previously. I plug in the charger to the wall, and the green light on the adapter turns on, but then when I plug it into the computer, the green light turns off, but still nothing happens.

    Any advice?

did you try xps support? I'm assuming that nothing happens with just the battery in right?

What happens if you remove the battery and just start it with the adapter?

I tried contacting XPS support but they say it is out of warranty, and the warranty that covers the GPU problem wont cover mine because they say mine is a power issue ( which I think is bull). THe AC adapter green light does stay on the charger unless I plug it into the laptop, in which case it turns off. I tried plugging it in with no battery, but still nothing happens when I hit the power button.

Light on adapter goes off after connecting it to the laptop? That indicates a faulty motherboard.. Perhaps something shorted out inside.. A burning smell is not always apparent...

So where can I get a reliable motherboard for it? I looked around online and found alot of refurbished ones. Apparently this model is popular for blowing motherboards. Any advice?

Get a motherboard with the Intel graphics... The nvidia ones are bound to have overheating problems..
