I replaced the screen on my Dell XPS m1530 today. It powered up, I checked it out and then proceeded to allow the 'automatic updates'.

Suddenly, it powered down and now I can't get it to start at all. Occasionally, I get a glimmer of the blue led behind the power button when it is pushed but the laptop will NOT power up.

    Any thoughts?

I had it working then it died after the software updates...so the screen install was successful....

How do I get it back?

    Thanks

unplug the power and leave it off for 10 minutes.

Then PRESS AND HOLD the power button for 10 seconds.

then plug the power back in and hit the power button again.

It's not possible for Windows Updates to damage hardware. Check the cables, it's possible that something came loose.

Okay can't get it to start or it doesn't power on?

    Try:

    - Testing your AC adapter with a multimeter

    - Using a known good Dell 90 watt AC adapter

    - Removing the battery and AC adapter, holding down the power button for 30 seconds 2-3 times.

Windows updates will not cause a computer not to power on. If the above doesn't work, sounds like a power circuitry issue with your motherboard.
