I am trying to run a Dell 3008WFP at 2560X1600 from a new XPS 15Z. Looking through this and other forums suggests that the only option is to connect from Mini DisplayPort on the laptop to DisplayPort on the monitor. I cannot find anyone who has actually done it though to confirm that it works. Has anybody actually succeeded in running this combination at that resolution successfully? Can anybody give me a definitive answer on whether it will work?
    Thanks

Did you try the Monoprice cable I suggested in this thread?

    The cable is cheap ($4)...
For only $3.92 each when QTY 50+ purchased - 6ft 32AWG DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort Cable - White | DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort Cables

I am finally driving my 3008 WFP from the XPS15z. I have it connected via MiniDisplay Port to Display Port cable, and using the latest beta video card driver from NVidia. The cable I could not buy locally and ended up getting one couriered from USA to Thailand. Supplier was Circuit Assembly Corp.. They supplied a working cable and got it to me in three days, so I would recommend them. Hope that helps others.
