I am thinking about getting the XPS 15z (the $1100 model with the 1080p screen). I will be going to college this fall so I'm worried that this laptop might be too large, but I really like it and dont see anything that really compares to it in price and specs that is 13 or 14 inches... so what do you guys think?

Are there any high quality laptops that are 13/14 inches that are recommended? (Besides Hp envy 14 and Sony S series)

p.s. I dont do any gaming and dont want a mac

If you don't do any gaming, you can take a look at an older Dell Latitude E6410 (don't like the looks of the E6420, but you can look at that too) or a ThinkPad T420. The E series Latitudes give you a standard 3 year depot warranty.

Also if you are going to college consider getting Dell's Complete Care (accidental damage).

toshiba's r830 (835 if blue > black) 13.3 its got intel's second gen I cores, way light, great battery.

if you don't care about a backlit keyboard, and you're willing to budge on the resolution, its probably your best bet.
anything above 5 LBs is a waste if you plan on bringing it with you everyday-- IMO.
