    I'm installing a Samsung 830 (128GB) SSD in a friends Dell XPS 15z.

With the provided software disk from Samsung, Norton Ghost.
-I opened the program, click Copy Drive
    -Source location the Laptops HHD
-copy to source Problem. The SSD is Not detected connected via the provided USB cable.

I'm i missing a step in the process?

The goal is to install the SSD and transfer all data from the factory HHD to the new SSD to not have to re-install architectural programs again.

    thank you.

you may have to go to Control Panel > Adminn Tool >Computer management > Disk management and setup the drive or verify it has been assigned a drive letter - if not then do so.
