Hi i was wondering if anyone can help me i have a Dell XPS 1640 and it throttles all the time and i wanted to get a replacement, but i am out of warranty does anyone know what i have to do.

I just tried to talk to a representative and they told me i was out of warranty and it would cost me $59 for 1 time troubleshooting and if i wanted replacement parts to contact Out of warranty department. But, i wasn't sure what to do as i have read that many people have throttling issues and received replacements but i don't know how they did it.

If anyone can give me advice to what i should do, anything would help. Should i extend my warranty?

If Dell let's you extend your warranty after your warranty has expired, take it.

You can't blame dell if your system breaks down after your warranty has expired.
