I think that's the Intel Management Engine Interface found under chipset on your country's Dell Driver Download Page.

thanks for the reply. I figured that out after I posted. I installed all 4 downloads in the dell download section , however I still have the "unknown device"

Do you have any ideas to what it can be?

Drop sensor is one of them, can't recall the others offhand. Did you install the chipset drivers and the USB 3 drivers?

That's the USB 3 driver that you need to install if you haven't already. Looks like you have the right things there to download, although the Turbo Boost Monitor isn't needed.

An alternative to installing drivers is to disable a device in Device Manager; a disabled device won't keep running the New Hardware Wizard every time Windows starts.

Why might you want to do this? I've only done it for the Intel mgmt interface. I have a single disk image that contains chipset, NIC, display, and audio drivers for a variety of Intel based PCs of varying age. Some of these PCs include Intel mgmt, which shows up as one, sometimes two, unrecognized devices, usually "PCI Serial Port" and "PCI Simple Communications Controller."

After researching their PCI Vendor and Device ID at The PCI ID Repository and discovering they were both part of Intel mgmt, and since we don't use that feature to manage PCs where I work, I just disable those devices in the PCs that have them after applying the image.

thanks guys. I will just leave it be. It seems like everything works so why mess with it. Stuff like this use to bother me but why stress over something so stupid.

Well if you don't have the USB 3 drivers, your USB 3 ports will have trouble, Windows 7 does not know how to properly use them without the driver right now. The rest is certainly optional, though recommended.

I had the same 3 things when I did a fresh install of windows and I finally found out it was the SD Card reader. I was able to just go onto the original hard drive(did the fresh isntall because i installed an SSD) and find the drivers for the card reader and voila! There are no card reader drivers on dell's website but I bet thats what your issue is.
