So I have abit of a confusing issue.
I have the l702x it was the GT550m version with the i5 processor. One day I plugged the ac adapter into the dc jack and the blue light on the charger went out. The laptop also wouldn't start.
Pretty much indicative of a dead motherboard. So I (stupidly) purchased the 3D Nvidea GT555M motherboard. Tore down my l702x and replaced the motherboard and walla the power cable works again the battery is being charged and it turns on.
However when it turns on I get 8 loud beeps. So quick Google check and it says screen failure and right enough I get no image on the screen. If I hold down +D while powering on I get a pure white screen. So what I did is I unplugged the screen and connected my HDMI cable to my 50" LG. And I still get the 8 beeps but on screen it shows DELL with a blue loading bar and in the bottom right hand corner it has F2 and F12 for options. However hitting either does nothing. Now if I reboot and hit f2 before that post message I can get into the bios and it shows the memory installed it shows the processor and speed and shows the connected harddrive. It looks like everything is working fine.
Now here is the strange issue, because this board comes with 4 dimm slots 2 gangs, if I put the memory in the lower slots one in each gang, I get the 8 beeps with the post message via hdmi, if I put the memory into just one gang so they are stacked then the computer turns on without any beeps (screen plugged in or not) but I get no image either from the 900p screen or my HDMI connection?
Now im not sure but will the 3D motherboard work with my old 900p screen? Or do I have to purchase the 3D Screen (1080p) I cant seem to tell how many pins my screen connection has but it seems to fit perfectly fine in the 3D motherboard so im assuming I have the 50pin cable.
Im scared to go out and buy the 3D screen encase this motherboard should work fine with the 900p screen (obviously I don't expect it to have 3D) but it should output an image... right?
The memory from the old system is nanya 1rx8 10600S-9-10-B2. 2GB 1333. So im sure this memory should work fine in the new motherboard. Its annoying because when I power up and get the 8 beeps even when the 900p screen is unplugged it wont get past the Dell XPS loading screen. It just sits there beeping at me when I have the HDMI cable plugged in to my TV. Also if this makes any difference when I get the 8 beeps on power up I noticed the motherboard cpu/gpu fan does not turn on. But when I change the memory round and put it in one gang only and power up the cpu/gpu fan powers on but again no output from the hdmi or from the 900p screen?
Any thoughts?

I was really hoping on a quick response to this as I will need to send the motherboard back soon. Can anyone help?
