    Hi,
I'm will be ordering a new laptop as soon as next week but I'm still having trouble making a final decision.

When considering the XPS 17 I see that there are two options for the screen: the 1600x900 one and the 3D 1920x1080 one.

The problem is that picking the later is incredibly expensive, since it is mandatory to choose as well the 3GB Nvidia graphics with 3D support. It literally costs over $300 more where I live.

Now, I don't care for 3D and I will probably never use it. Also, I currently use a 16" 1920x1080 Sony VAIO F and I find the resolution to make everything look too tiny fror my tastes. So I would be ok with the 1600x900 screen resolution (or at least I'm trying to tell myself I would be ok).

However I know that some companies (HP for example) give you lower quality screens (less vibrant colors) when you don't choose the highest resolution one.

Anybody with more experience with the XPS laptops can attest if this applies to the XPS 17?

Because $300 extra is a lot to ask for, but if I'm going to get a low quality screen otherwise I will think about it.

Thanks in advance for your help :)
