    Hi guys,
So I have had my Dell XPS 9550 for around 6-8 months now and I absolutely love this machine and the way it looks and functions.
However, recently I was on a trip near the red sea and left the laptop functioning on battery while I went to have dinner. After I came back it was shut off or put to sleep (normal) but whilst I restarted it I was taken to the PCIe diagnostics page and apparently my CPU fan was failing the diagnostics test and not turning on. I went through the trouble shooting procedures of updating my BIOS and going on the dell website and updating all my drivers ( I did this through their detect system and diagnose software on their website, downloads and installations were also automatic). Oddly enough, I managed to fix it by opening the lower panel (was difficult with those weird star looking screws) and turning on the computer. Literally that's all I just did I didn't even clear out any dust on the fans, both worked when I turned on the laptop, I passed the PCIe test and I put back the lower panel on and the laptop was booting up with no hardware issues detected thankfully.

However, I noticed funny performance on the laptop in my games (world of Warcraft) and a bit of choppiness in general. The average framerate is just as before its just I get these frequent chops in the game now and I feel like this is due to the driver updates I have had using Dell's crapware online and the crapware my computer came installed with. Browser use and opening files is also not as smooth. Again, I am guessing this has to do with my driver updates and my Bios update from the dell website. What do you guys think I should do. I tried doing the restore PC to an earlier date but it says my PC was upgraded more than 10 days ago?..
Is there any other forms of trouble shooting you guys would recommend (turning off the inter graphics for example idk)

Note that my temps are fine (core GPU temp around 50 and CPU temps on 50s as well after a 30 minute Wow gaming session).
Also my RAM usage is excessively high (5 gigabytes out of 16) even when idle and have almost no background programs run (not even skype),

One last point I wanted to make was that I don't think I had my AC adapted plugged in while I was updating my bios in attempt to fix my fan issue, or I think my battery was under 30% or both. Either way, there was no cut in power/shutdown in my laptop during the procedure for sure. But could having an unplugged AC or low battery be a problem even if there was no power cut for sure and the install was complete uninterrupted?

Again guys thanks and please advise

If you didn't bother cleaning out the dust I suggest you start with that as it is probably having to throttle back to keep the temps in check.

    Hi,
I have tried that and no help. I was expecting that because my temperatures were low to begin with anyway.
So what I tried to do is do a system restore to a previous date where I did not take on the driver updates that seemed to slow performance. However, when trying to do the system restore I ran into another whopping error (error 0x80070091). I literally spent all night looking for solutions and they all pointed towards deleting the WindowsApps folder which I cant do even with Q-Dir program which gives me permission (says that programs are using it). I tried deleting the OfficeHub file but I cant for the same reason no permission. I used the batch file presented by Microsoft http://borncity.com/win/2017/04/05/windows-10-v-1607-fix-for-system-restore-error-0x80070091/ but the execution fails as it says that Windows cannot remove the package WindowsHub because the user does not have it installed, even though I see the file in the WindowsApp directory and have tried deleting it with the Q-Dir program but as I said it says I have no permission.

Please help guys I really wanna do this system restore.
