Hi guys, I would like to know what are the maximum specs you can get with the Dell XPS 15 9550, fully loaded. I find Dell's website quite frustrating.

1tb SSD 32gb RAM qhd screen 84wh battery. You can mod the battery to Samsung note specs by driving a screwdriver through it.

It has only one hard drive slot?
What of those things are user upgradable and which ones are not?

I guess it pretty much depends on one's needs. I always use my notebooks connected to the power supply, so practically never use the battery. The issue with NVMe drives is that the maximum capacity is 1TB I think. My favourite brand is Sandisk, and they even don't have 2TB 2.5" SSD drives, so I'm missing a lot of capacity.

The XPS would be a desktop replacement for me.

Samsung do the 960 pro 2tb NVMe but a desktop replacement could be hooked up to a thunderbolt dock with external HDD for storage.

Check my signature, that was the highest specification available direct from Dell a few months back. Don't think anything has changed since?

No but you could shoehorn in a 2tb NVMe drive as they are coming out now.

So there isn't any hard drive size limitation per BIOS basis?

MBR used to have a limit of 2.2TB. GPT has a theoretical limitation of 9.4 ZB (9.4 zettabytes, or 9.4 billion terabytes).

Should see us through the forseeable future! :D

I think there's still a long way until those drivers get customer ready. In any case, the major difference would be at first glance the speed, not the capacity.
