Hey dude/ttes,
I've searched high and low for the answer to this. Some said it was Hyper-V (nope) and some would say it was Intel's drivers (probably, still). I have a 9550 with Windows Signature -- that means very little bloatware so I didn't bother reformatting when I bought the machine -- and my system software and BIOS is completely up-to-date. (edit: yes, even beyond Dell's official drivers)
Every once and a while, a couple times a day, my display will flash black for 1-2 seconds, and I know that this is software-related because:
1) Sometimes the mouse pointer will show up before the screen recovers.
2) This does not happen in BIOS.
I'm beginning to think the only solution is a complete reformat but have seen plenty of people complaining about how this doesn't help because it's believed to be an Intel driver issue, so I wanted to check here first.
Any thoughts?

Try the new intel Beta ( you will probably have to install via the device manager) https://downloadmirror.intel.com/25957/eng/Beta_15.40.23.64.4444.zip and the latest Nvidia driver.

i'd believe it's an Intel driver problem. I have the rare 3 second black screen on an external monitor.
Intel drivers suck, but at least they're quickly putting out betas -
This has happened with every IGP driver since Skylake was released, though?
