I've had my XPS 9560 for almost 2 months now, and once I updated my drivers, it has been working like a dream, up until recently. All of a sudden, the volume is extremely low on my laptop, no matter what I do. I checked all the levels and everything is set to max, yet the volume is no where near as loud as it once was. Am I missing something, what could of happened here? Is there anything else I could check?

Sure it's not the volume mixer?

Yeah I checked that, everything is maxed out on the volume mixer. I can't figure out it out, it's very frustrating. It's drastically lower than it used to be, my cell phone is significantly louder than the laptop now.

I can tell you that I've updated my audio drivers to the newest ones, but I can also tell you that I've never really used the speakers on my 9560... No idea if it's having the same issues.

No problems here, I assume you have tried reinstalling before posting?

Yes I have, twice. No success. The problem didn't happen right after I updated the drivers, it happened about a week later, but I tried reinstalling them regardless.

I once had similar issue, turns out that Dell comes with this sound program called "WAVESmaxxaudio Pro", where you can switch your sound between stereo and surround sound etc. It could seem that your setting might be set to the wrong amount of speakers or external speakers etc, you just have to set it back to be using the internal stereo speakers.

It might not be the cause of your problem, but it's definitely worth looking into.

I couldn't find anything about "WAVESmaxxaudio Pro" just "Realtek audio." I have it set to surround I believe.

I shot a quick cell phone video, maybe it'll show more clearly what's wrong, or what I'm missing to check.
