    Hello

Just got my new XPS 17, I've wiped the crappy dell install of Win7, and installed a fresh copy, for the life of me I can't get the nvidia drivers to install?

I tried the ones from the dell site, no go, and the nvidia site, doesn't work either?

The installer tells me there is no compatible hardware?

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

How is the Dell Win7 installation "crappy"? There really wasn't that much trialware and other stuff installed on my XPS 15. It was simple to deal with it via Revo Uninstaller.

Did you install drivers in the recommended sequence? There is a preferred sequence, and it can make a difference.

Just trying to 290.53 drivers now and they are installing.

Well basically when I first ran the laptop with dells win7 install, it was slow as hell, lagged going into my computer! and folder etcs.

I formatted and installed a fresh copy of win7 without any crap and it's running super smooth and fast, so yeah it's much better, also isntalling onto my SSD helped.

Mine ran crappy at first as well. I just uninstalled the things from Dell I didn't like and wah laaa, runs super smooth. I used to do fresh installs on my HP's, but have found there really isn't any performance gain between uninstalling all the crap or doing a fresh install.
