    Hello all,

I have an issue where the battery charging light indicators both behind the screen (next to the hard drive activity indicator) and just above the keyboard will only sometimes illuminate. They will just randomly be working during one session, then I reboot and both will not be working.

    Any ideas?

    All help is greatly appreciated!

They replaced the entire motherboard. It is still not working. The technician just left my house and we don't know what it could be. The weirdest thing is, on boot, both indicator lights will illuminate for a second, but then they will just go off and stay off.

Can anyone shed some light (no pun intended) on the matter?

    Thank you!

Is your battery at or near 100%? If so the lights go out because it disables charging to prevent overcharging. When you reboot the lights light up for a few seconds until the battery meter program starts and detects the battery at a full charge and disables it again...and the lights go out.

Mine does this and it's completely normal. Hope you didn't change the board for nothing.

    I feel like an idiot!

Thank you very much. That was the issue, it works perfectly, I just always leave my laptop plugged in!

Cool... You may notice it says charging and the light is off...my light turns off in the very high 90% range and will still say its charging at 100 for a while before it disables, I just never noticed how long before it does though.

Edit: takes about 20 minutes or so at 100 before charging disables
