I'm trying to upgrade from a 720p to a 1080p screen. I have an old Inspiron 1520 with a 1080p screen, and I was wondering if it was possible to switch it with my XPS L502x screen. I know I will probably still need the ribbon if this is even possible, but I thought it would be worth it to ask you guys and see if I can save some money by not having to by a replacement screen.
Thanks.

If I remember correctly, the Inspiron 1520 supports WSXGA 1680x1050 16:10 as a screen option. On the other hand, the XPS L502X supports FHD 1920x1080 16:9 as a screen option.
Ribbon cable compatibility aside, note the differences in aspect ratio and pixel density (resolution).
If you want to upgrade the L502X screen from 720p to 1080p, the best approach is to buy an exact, genuine AUO B156HW01 V.7 panel (brand new for about $100). You will be definitely happy with the result. -
Thanks Kaso, I knew it was a long shot. Thanks for the recommendation, I'll look into it.
