I facing a weird issue that I have no idea how to resolve. While Windows 7 is loading the welcome screen I notice just before it displays the desktop that the brightness dims, even though it set to max brightness in the power settings. In the bios screen I notice that the screen is brighter than in Windows itself.

I checked my drivers and they seem to be up to date. I've had this problem ever since I re-installed Windows 7 from scratch.

What could be causing this issue, does anyone have any ideas?

Ok. I finally found a forum with people that have the same problem expect that it's for a different laptop; Thinkpad L512 display doesn't reach full brightnes... - Lenovo Community

It seems that the problem is likely to be the bios, mine is on the latest version A12. Does anyone else using that bios have the same issue? If so which older bios version doesn't have the brightness problem?
