I factory restored my XPS last night and did all Windows updates. I then realized it won't turn off! Windows shuts down fine but just after one or two seconds it turns on by itself and boots back into Windows.

Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue and if there is a fix for this.

Maybe it's worth restoring again, maybe something went wrong previously?

Go ito your BIOS and load defaults, see what happens.

Personally, I always find something weird happens everytime a restore is done. I prefer clean installs. It might take longer but you eliminate the need to troubleshoot issues like this and that way you have the chance to get up close and personal with all the up to date drivers :) Dell isn't very good at keeping up most of the time.

Hi , I`m new here ,just got a xps l502x, ran windows update yesterday and after installing the updates and restarting a couple of times it got stuck on the blue windows 7 screen, still stuck this morning so i ran the F8 repair option which fixed it. Now when i shut down it keeps restarting itself, the same as the original poster mentions???
