    Hi,

On my Dell XPS L702X when i put the laptop to sleep and wake it up again it takes ages for the Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230 wireless card to connect to router.

I searched on Google and notice several people have the same problem. I made sure the power settings was set to maximum performance in battery power plan. I unticked the in the wireless card properties so the computer cannot turn off the wireless card to save power.

I checked and to what i can see i am using the latest driver after checking the Dell website. I uninstalled the network card and choose to also delete the drivers and downloaded the latest ones from the Dell website and installed them but problem still persists. I tried another router to ensure it was nothing to do with that even thou i knew it wasn't but checked to be on safe side.

I'm not sure what else to do, has anyone got a solution to this problem ? it seems several of the Intel cards in this range have the same problem.

    Thank you,
    Mat

    Hi,

Just checked in device manager and it seems i am using that driver.

    Device Manager shows:

    Driver Provider: Intel
    Driver Date: 27/10/2011
    Driver Version: 14.3.0.6

I tried again by uninstalling via device manager and also choosing to delete driver and same problem.

    Thanks,
    Mat

I believe that is what allows it to work properly with sleep mode...at least on my system anyways. :D

I know this is a Dell forum but I have the same exact issue on my Sony Vaio. Its running the Centrino Advanced-N 6230.
    Driver version: 15.1.0.18
    Driver Date: 2/20/2012
    Downloaded from Intel.

I have the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" UNchecked in the Power Management tab.

I also used to have a problem with the Intel 4965AGN on a Dell Latitude d820 as well. The fix on that Dell and this Sony is you can disable the device in Device Manager and then re-enable it. Both the Sony and the Dell have hardware wireless switches, but that never fixes it.

I think Intel cards stink to be honest. You can't even get drivers for them if you want to run a dual boot Hackintosh setup. You would think Intel, maker of such great CPU's would be the best... but I'd rather have a Broadcom based wireless card.

that's your problem KJS, he(ray4jc) was specifically telling mat24 that you have to keep it checked :)

I do agree with you about how sucky it is that they are not compatible with hackintosh setups, but not all broadcom wireless cards are compatible with hackintosh either :)
