I wanted to ask if anyone can help with my ram upgrade issue.
My Dell Xps L702x win 8, original spec is 17in non 3d Display, 3mb nvidia, 2 dim ram slots with 2 x 4gb ram. I've recently purchased a twin pack 8x2 ram upgrade. When I installed the new ram on the initial boot up it just got stuck where windows starts loading, and never loads anything past that point.
Before I bought the ram I checked in the system window and it shows that able to expand to 16gig ram. I've also performed a bios flash with the latest A19 version from dells driver upgrade.

2x8 should work in your machine. I would check your install to make sure their aligned right. what you need to do is check if the new ram is good or bad. Pull one of 8"s out and replace it with one of your 4"s if still no good replace the 8 with the other new eight. try it and let us know the result

    Thanks for your reply Ronbo!
I tested the new ram per your instructions.
What i did is i took out old ram and installed 1x8gb new ram. It worked fine, windows loaded.
Then I tested the other new ram and it performed the same.
I added one of the old 4gb sticks and it did not work.
I did it for both new sticks. Didn't work.
Just to make a note of it the breand of the new ram is Corsair.
    Any other suggestions?
