Hi ive had my laptop for over a month now and the start-up time is really slow compared to my own laptop and other computers in the house (running Windows 7) when I boot up the laptop, it will start up fine, but when it loads up windows and displays the text "Welcome" in the middle of the screen it will just stay on there for around 2 + mins and then goes to a black screen and does the same thing again before it loads up the desktop. Finally even if i enable the dell stage app it will take even longer to start up.
P.S I have try ed reformatting and doing defrags, disk clean ups, virus scans and that.
I Have the 3D modal with 10GB of RAM and 3GB 555m graphics

First thing would be to check your system event log after the system finally hands you control, and look for red bangs (errors) at boot time. If you find some, head over to eventid.net for explanations and possible fixes.
Here's a long shot, but I thought I'd mention it because the symptoms were so similary to what you described.
Where I work, bored manager types would take their XP laptops around to various conventions, hotels, coffee shops, etc, each with a wifi connection. They'd set these to connect automatically in Windows, so that when they were out of range, Windows XP would attempt to connect at startup until it's time out period elapsed. The symptoms were very similar to what you described.
I think Win 7 is smarter and tries to connect automatically "when in range" rather than all the time, but you might want to check if you have any wifi connections that are trying to connect at boot time.
