    Guys,
I have a Dell XPS M1210 for the past 1.5 years and I recently bought a XPSM1530 (non LED screen).

Compared to the M1530 the screen of the M1210 appears *really* dull and the whites are not pure (they have a distinct yellow tint). Is this normal with the M1210 or is the M1530 screen that much better?

FYI, I have the AUO screen on the M1210 and my CompleteCover has expired so I can't call up Dell techies for free.

Any suggestions as to what the problem is?

Probably just the way the screen is.

When I bought my MacBook and had it side by side with my m1330, my MB had a very noticeably whiter screen. The m1330 looked yellow in comparison.

Doesn't necessarily mean there is anything wrong.

It means the backlight is yellowish. I don't know if they get yellower with age, but some of them certainly start out more yellowish than others.

You can also mess with the nvidia control pannel to get the colors to your liking.

Is your screen significantly dimmer than your1530? With ccfl you lose brightness every year, and that causes the screen to lose contrast, brightness, color, etc. Most laptop screens are rated about 20,000 hours before they lose half their rate brightness.
