    Dell XPS M1210 proccessor upgrade??

    I supose you have read many threads simular to this.

    I recentley bought a secondahnd Dell XPS M1210 with 4gb memory 250gb HD and running XP pro with sp3 it currentley has Intel Core 2 CPU T5500 1.66GHz I would like to upgrade the processor to Intel Core Duo T7600 is it possible and if so is it simply as replacing the proccessor?

    I am a novice at this although I have changed a processor on my old Acer.

    Any and all help appreciated.

    You have a Socket M machine with a 945 chipset; yes, it is possible for you to upgrade to a T7600. Given that you have the latest BIOS, yes, it is just a matter of swapping the processor; there are no other changes needed. For your viewing pleasure, here is the service manual for the M1210:
