Hello all can I get some advise on this issue. I have an oppourtunity to purchase 4 extended 9 cell batteries for my XPS M1330. They are new... Is it wise for me to purchase them and just never open the package until I need them.. Or will they degrade from me leaving them in storage until needed. Please advise. I must say that the deal I am getting on them is extremely good. they are genuine dell parts and brand new. never been opened.

get it, sell on ebay b/c theres battery shortage....

think the cells would degrade, but not at a rate as though you are using them.

As paper said, you may want to look into selling them since they're fetching big bucks at this time. The batteries will degrade over time even when not used, although if you keep them in a cool location at 40% charge they store better.

Right now they're going for $300 on the Dell Canada site (checked the US site though, but only $150 now?).
