Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I have posted this same query on Dell but to date no responses.

Last Thursday, 18/June, I ripped music from various Audio CDs. The next day when I went to play one of the same Audio CDs I had played with no problem the previous day it would not work.

The drive would spin up but the auto play process would never come up. When trying to play the CD (and many other audio CDs that had worked before) with WMP or WinAmp or foobar2000 or Real Player none of the programs would see a Audio CD

When looking at Drive E via 'Computer' Open Function nothing would happen. When looking at it via properties it said 0 files.

The drive WILL play Movie DVDs and audio CDs that are .wma.

I did a system restore but it made no difference.

Dell XPS support says I should do a re-format and re-install (no thank you).

I have checked associations for various audio associations to insure they are related to a process.

Thank You in advance for reading this and any help.
    John
