The XPS M1330 is the second Dell laptop I've owned. The Inspiron 9400 put me off buying another Dell - for the wrong reasons really. I didn't want another high end laptop with poor battery life, and at just over £1000, the XPS M1330 seemed like a good choice. At 13.3" it's portable and packed with features.

I like the review, mostly in part because it is just a simple quick and easy to read rendition of the system.

There is one part I would question thought and that is when you discuss the 9400 and mediaDirect. Did you mean M1330 rather than 9400 here? If not I would believe it sjould be excluded as it doesnt go with the flow that is m1330.

Further, I would suggest submitting it to Andrew as a site review rather than a link to your website; it will get much more airtime there.

That was out of the box. I'll re-benchmark with the latest drivers and see if there's any improvement.

Aah -- from "1330_front.jpg", I see you have the dreaded keyboard hump.

A technician that was working on something else on my M1330 also fixed this issue for me. The problem is that the antennae for the WLAN card runs from the bottom of the laptop, up through the chassis, and out at the top. It then runs parallel to the short sides of the notebook, makes a 90 degree turn right, runs parallel to the long sides of the notebook, makes another turn, and up to the sides of the screen. Metal clips are supposed to make the antennae sit flat, but if they aren't secured properly, your keyboard will not sit flat either.

I think it's just a fish eye effect of the camera. I've checked and the keyboard is perfectly flat.

My keyboard seems perfect, too, and I do like the typing feel. It's very responsive but still feels firm. It's the best laptop keyboard I've seen, so far.
